that raid car is cheap... but if going to the latest AMD, you'd want a PCIe GEN4 card to gain the bandwidth.
But I almost want to get that card for giggles to see how she does...

Yea that's why I've been eyeing them, that card has special bus requirements that you must meet and boot issues.
Like I said I just picked and "example" subject needs research and I doubt that card is the right one.
Still with 4gen you could get some insane numbers.
I borrowed a drool pic vin, not from that card from another. 2x1t in r0 drives are m2 gen 3

ya, at I think it was CES this year Gigabyte had their own 4x NVMe v4 card with 4 of their 1TB drives in it.. they reached the limit of the Gen4 bus with it.. I think it was 20,000MB/s Read and Something like 12,000MB/S Write....

That qualifies as insane numbers. 
i had to go check that out I didn't even know they offered one, they seem to have the same hold backs I'm seeing with the others.
